Kaneohe Real Estate

On the shores of Kaneohe Bay on Oahu's windward side, the city of Kaneohe is welcoming to all newcomers. The town's name means "bamboo man", and it comes from an ancient Hawaiian legend. Today, there are 34,600 people living in this thriving community.

Condos here start at $200,000 while houses run from $450,000 to as much as $4,000,000 for luxury homes. This is a safe and peaceful community with a suburban feel, and there's also easy access to Honolulu thanks to Interstate H3, which runs along the city's edge. There's plenty of job and shopping opportunities to be found along the Kamehameha Highway, which runs through the middle of town.

Kaneohe has 11 public schools and several private schools. In addition, the Windward Community College can be found on the west side of town, and Hawaii Pacific University has a campus as well. The town also has plenty of parks for people to sit back, relax and enjoy Hawaii's natural beauty. Golfers will love the town's three courses that are all open to the public.

There's also plenty of enjoyable destinations for you to spend the day. On the south side of Kaneohe is the Ho?omaluhia Botanical Garden, which showcases tropical plants from around the world. And since Kaneohe is on the shore, there are exquisite beaches to enjoy.

Not far from Kaneohe is Heeia State Park, and it not only offers some of the most beautiful views on the windward side, but there are also regular kayaking excursions out on the bay. And if you prefer more urban excitement, then Honolulu is just minutes away. Hawaii's largest city offers everything from high-class boutiques to exquisite restaurants, museums that showcase the history and culture of the islands, and plenty of clubs where you can unwind after a hard day's work.
